Marsha Oshima

Marsha Oshima is the Head of Pro Bono Counselors within Second Chance and is excited to lead the pro-bono guidance counselor team. She has worked as a university advisor since 2013 and currently is at the International School of Geneva in Switzerland. She has experience working with students from numerous cultural backgrounds and academic levels applying to universities in multiple world regions.

Marsha is committed to advancing international high education opportunities for students and collaborating with counselors globally. To support the greater admissions and counseling field, she serves as the Vice President for Professional Development for International ACAC, a membership organization for international admissions and high school counseling professionals. She has been a panel organizer and speaker at conferences for International ACAC and the Council of International Schools. Marsha also serves on the Times Higher Education (THE) International Schools Advisory Board where she advises on the development of counselor training and writes articles for THE Counselor and THE Student websites.

Throughout her career, Marsha’s work has focused on international study and exchange opportunities for students and professionals. She believes in the power of person to person diplomacy. Prior to her move to Switzerland, Marsha worked for nearly 15 years at the Institute of International Education (IIE), managing U.S. Government and private scholarship and exchange programs including the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Programs, KAUST Scholarships, the International Visitor Leadership Program and the Boren Scholarships.
