Chien Hau Lim has significant experience working with high achieving low income students in her dual role as a university advisor and a teacher of English at a government-funded sixth form college, Meragang Sixth Form Centre, in Brunei. Since 2016, she has guided students in applying internationally to universities in the UK, US, Netherlands, Singapore and Malaysia.

Chien is passionate about increasing student access to education. Recognising that there are few professional development opportunities open to her locally, she has sought and been selected for scholarships to attend international conferences including Global University Counselor Connect and International ACAC, to build networks and to stay informed about scholarship opportunities for international students. Having benefited from these conferences, she collaborated with EducationUSA Brunei in delivering a nationwide workshop to educators. She has also established a platform for educators in Brunei to collaborate and exchange university advising resources, fostering ongoing partnerships and enhancing support for students' educational journeys.
